Welcome to Mass Spectrometry Laboratory

Laboratory

Laboratory has been working since January 2000. At the beginning it was equipped with two spectrometers: MALDI and QTOF.

Beside our own research activity the analyses for other research centers both in Poland and abroad are also carried on. This includes measurements of biological molecules masses and proteomic identification of the samples protein composition.

The demand for these analyses was systematically growing so the enhancement of the laboratory quantitative and qualitative potential was necessary.

The Ministry of Science and Information Society Technologies granted the resources for the investment project named "Mass spectrometer the cyclotron resonance type with Fourier transformation with equipment, nano-HPLC chromatography system cooperating with mass spectrometer, data analysis computer unit".

Thanks to the decision of The Ministry of Science and Information Society Technologies and The Foundation for Polish Science subsidization (contract MILAB 88/2004) the significant improvement of sensitivity and precision of the measurements occurs. Thus the new generation of the proteomic technology became available for Polish medical sciences environment.

The Laboratory applies for GLP (Good Laboratory Practice).
